How to apply to the MVP School for Veterinary Professionals


Purpose: To provide a clear, step-by-step guide for prospective students and their managers to apply for the MVP School for Veterinary Technicians.


Eligibility Criteria

Application Requirements

  1. Minimum 90-day Employment
    • Applicants must have been employed at an MVP hospital for at least 90 days.
  2. Residency
    • Applicants must reside in one of the eligible states.
    • States Eligible to apply as of June 2025: Residency in eligible states:  AR, AZ, CA, CO, HI, ID, IN, KS, MI, MD, ME, MO, MS, NC, OH, SC, SD, TN, VA, and WI.
  3. Signed Commitment Agreements
    • Mentor Commitment Agreement
      • Mentor should be a qualified Veterinarian or Certified Veterinary Technician (CrVT).
      • Ensures the mentor understands their role and responsibilities.
    • Practice Manager Commitment Agreement
      • Ensures the practice manager is committed to supporting the student’s participation and academic commitments.
  4. Letters of Recommendation
    • Two letters required
      • Ideally one from a hospital lead role.
      • One from a hospital coworker.
    • Should provide a compelling picture of the student’s qualifications, character, and readiness for the program.
  5. Proof of Rabies Vaccination
    • Proof of rabies vaccination is required for program admission (vaccination required by AVMA) – must be submitted no later than 60 days post enrollment.
    • Vaccines can be obtained through your local health department or Passport Health.
  6. Predictive Index Assessment Scores
    • Applicants must complete two online Predictive Index Assessments within seven days of submitting the application. 
    • Links to complete the assessments will be sent to applicants upon submitting their applications.
  7. Transcript Submissions
    • Digital copies preferred and recommended for expedited enrollment: send to vtschool@mvetpartners.com.

    • Official transcripts need to be mailed or emailed directly by the school, they cannot be sent from the student.

Application Check list

  1. Pre-Application Steps
    • Identify a mentor and ensure they meet the qualification criteria.
    • Obtain the mentor’s signature on the Mentor Commitment Agreement.
    • Obtain the practice manager’s signature on the Practice Manager Commitment Agreement.
    • Request official high school or college transcripts to be sent to MVP.
    • Obtain Rabies vaccination and submit documentation with application.

  3. Post-Application Steps
    • Complete the Predictive Index Assessments within 7 days of receiving the link.
    • Wait for notice of selection for an interview, which will be communicated within six weeks.

Course of Study

  • The pilot cohort must adhere to a strict course of study, completing each quarter within the
    specified time frame for two reasons:
    1. To provide feedback for future cohorts.
    2. To ensure a successive line of students completing the quarters for accreditation
      purposes.
  • Complete course surveys after each quarter.

Accreditation

  • The school is currently offering a diploma for completing the curriculum.
  • Efforts are being made to achieve full accreditation, which will extend the program to 8 quarters for an associate’s degree.
  • MVP cannot guarantee nor provide a timeframe that the program will earn accreditation.

Additional Information

  • Cost of the Program:
    • The program is fully funded by MVP, with no cost to students or hospitals.
  • Commitment to MVP:
    • Students are expected to maintain satisfactory academic progress, adhere to program
      guidelines, and continue employment with MVP while enrolled.
    • If a student decides to leave MVP, they will no longer be eligible to continue the
      program.

Spring 2026

  • Application Window: January 15- February 5, 2026
  • Notification of Acceptance: March 2, 2026
  • Student Orientation: March 23, 2026
  • Classes Open: March 30, 2026

Summer 2026

  • Application Window: April 16- May 7, 2026
  • Notification of Acceptance: June 1, 2026
  • Student Orientation: June 22, 2026
  • Classes Open: June 29, 2026
